Evicted from the Bottom: Embracing God's Higher Calling

Have you ever felt stuck at the bottom, wondering if God has forgotten you? Making you feel powerless over the outcomes of your life. Feeling powerless is often associated with a sense of lack of control over one's situation or circumstances.

It can involve feeling overwhelmed by external forces, unable to influence outcomes of our life, or feeling insignificant or unsupported. This state might lead to a sense of frustration, hopelessness, or helplessness, as individuals may perceive themselves as unable to change or affect their environment or the events around them.

It is easy to feel powerless in a world that wants to strip you of your power.   This is the strategic assignment of the enemy to overwhelm believers with external circumstances that they are unable to change, the outcome.  Forcing us into a place of frustration and helplessness, which will result in us giving up all hope. It's time to receive your eviction notice - not from your home, but from the depths of limitation and powerlessness.

The journey begins with a profound realization: God chose you before the foundations of the world. Despite knowing every mistake you would make, every time you would fall short, He still picked you. This isn't about your perfection; it's about His perfect love. As the Psalmist declared, "Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, who He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy." Your redemption wasn't earned; it was gifted through God's unmerited favor.

Consider the man at the pool of Bethesda in John 5. For 38 years, he waited by the water, hoping for healing but feeling powerless to change his circumstances. How often do we find ourselves in similar situations, repeatedly showing up at our own "pools," praying for a breakthrough but feeling stuck? The good news is that just as Jesus approached that man with a word of power, He's approaching you today with a life-changing declaration: "Get up, pick up your mat, and walk!"

This moment marks a critical power shift in your life. The same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead is now leaning in your favor, ready to seat you in high places. Ephesians 2:6 reminds us that God "raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms." You're not destined for the bottom; you're called to ascend!

But here's where many of us stumble. We continue to think, speak, and act as if we belong in low places, even though God has positioned us for greatness. It's time to align your mindset with your heavenly seating. You're not just hoping to be positioned someday; you're already positioned in Christ. This reality should revolutionize how you approach every challenge and opportunity.

The apostle Paul, writing to the Ephesians, had a moment of profound realization that sparked a spontaneous doxology. As he reflected on God's workings throughout eternity to bring about salvation and unity between Jews and Gentiles, he couldn't help but pause and praise. "Now to him who is able to do exceeding, abundantly, and above all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us..." (Ephesians 3:20)

This verse isn't just about future possibilities; it's about present realities. God's extraordinary power isn't just working for you; it's working in you right now. Think about it - if God's power was at work in your past, bringing you to salvation and keeping you through trials, how much more is it working in your present and future?

It's time to expand your expectations. You've been putting God in a box, limiting Him to your own thought capacity, dreams, and visions. But God is saying, "I'm about to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you ask or think." This isn't just about exceeding your expectations; it's about continually surpassing them. The '-ing' in 'exceeding' signifies ongoing action. God isn't done yet!

Remember the disciples after Jesus' crucifixion? They went back to their old lives, not expecting the resurrection. But God's plans were far beyond their limited understanding. In just three days, He turned their world upside down - or rather, right side up. This same God is working in your life, ready to resurrect dead dreams and breathe new life into impossible situations.

So, what's holding you back? You can't stay depressed, defeated, or broken when you have this much power within you. The Bible promises that after the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you shall receive power - power to defeat the enemy, bring down walls, and rise above every circumstance.

It's time to lift up your head. As Psalm 24 declares, "Lift up your heads, O you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in." Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty! He's not just the Lord of some distant future; He's the Lord of your right now.

Your eviction notice from lower-level living has arrived. It's time to get all your stuff - your dreams, your health, your finances, your relationships - and move up to the mountain God has prepared for you. You're not turning back. As the old sitcom "The Jeffersons" said, "We're moving on up!" This isn't just positive thinking; it's aligning your life with the heavenly position God has already given you in Christ.

As you embrace this truth, let it transform your prayer life, your expectations, and your daily walk. Start speaking and acting from your position of victory, not from a place of defeat. When challenges come - and they will - remind yourself: "I'm seated with Christ in heavenly places. This situation is under my feet!"

God's power isn't just working around you; it's working within you. You have the same power that raised Christ from the dead living inside you. This power is more than enough to overcome any obstacle, heal any wound, and fulfill any God-given dream.

So today, make a decision. Will you continue to live as if you're stuck at the bottom, or will you embrace your eviction notice and move into the higher calling God has for you? Remember, this isn't about your ability; it's about His. Now unto Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us - to Him be all the glory!

As you go forward, carry this truth with you: You've been evicted from lower-level living. There's no going back. You're moving onward and upward, embracing the fullness of what God has prepared for you. It's time to rise, take up your mat, and walk into the extraordinary life God has called you to live.
